He went 3-4 yesterday to provide much of the Yankee offense in an ‘easy’ 6-3 victory over the 18-11 Minnesota Twins at the Stadium on a cold, drizzly May Friday night.

James Paxton left the game in the 3rd inning, complaining of soreness in his left knee. So that’s a possible big issue.
Other than that, it was a nice ‘easy’ victory — Jonathan Holder came in and not only held them, but picked up a win with 2 shutout innings of middle relief. The rest of the ballpen — sans Zack Britton — did their jobs. Britton allowed a 2-run homer in the 8th to make the 6-1 lead a 6-3 lead — ‘not so easy’. But Aroldis Chapman came in to pitch a scoreless 9th — although he allowed a baserunner so the tieing run ambled to the on-deck circle at one point. But he closed the game. Adam Ottavino pitched a scoreless 6th; Tommy Kahnle pitched a scoreless 7th.
For the offense — Luke Voit, Mike Ford, Gio Urshela, Cameron Maybin, and Gleyber Torres all got a hit. Kyle Gibson took the loss for Minnesota.
