Like the Old Days — Yanks 8 Orioles 6; Judge Stars — July 30, 2020

The Yankees scored 5 runs in the top of the 1st inning, mostly off a Grand Slam by Luke Voit — but Baltimore got 2 in the bottom of the 1st and 2 in the 2nd off J.A. Happ to make it 5-4, NY. It stayed that way until Baltimore scored 2 in the bottom of the 8th off Jonathan Loaisiga to take a 6-5 lead — but fear not — Aaron Judge hit a 3-run homer in the top of the 9th to win the game for the Yanks.

Like Old Times

Imagine being a Baltimore Orioles fan, and watching Aaron Judge crush your team again and again and again and again. Even during this wacko season with nobody in the stands.

Etcetera

Baltimore’s reliever Cole Sulser got touched up by Judge for the loss. Loaisiga got the undeserved win; Zack Britton the save.

Giancarlo Stanton went 3-4 and Luke Voit ended up 2 for 4. Miquel Andujar and DJ LeMahieu, and Aaron Hicks got the other Yankee hits — 9 in all.

The Yanks are now 4-1 at the start of this shortened 60-game season.
