Suzyn Waldman sang the national anthem — and sounded Great — what a voice! Operatic! — Jordan Montgomery was BACK — pitching 5.2 innings of 1-run ball, and Aaron Judge hit a homer (his 3rd in 3 games) and threw a runner out at 1st who strayed too far off the bag on a liner to Judge in right — and the Yanks beat Boston solidly on a Beautiful (low humidity, warm 75-degrees) evening at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, in front of zero fans. Due to Coronavirus. Imagine reading that a year ago.
Waldman had promised that if Gerrit Cole ever joined the Yankees she would sing the National Anthem; he did and she did. He tipped his hat to her from the dugout when she finished.
Tonight's National Anthem was performed by Suzyn Waldman. Suzyn was the very first voice ever heard on WFAN radio. She has been a beat reporter, TV analyst, play by play broadcaster, and is the first and only woman ever to have a full-time analyst job with a Major League team. pic.twitter.com/9IEmHzzv6D

DJ LeMahieu had 3 more hits and is hitting .455. Gleyber Torres and Gio Urshela had 2 hits apiece; Brett Gardner got the other Yankee hit.
Ryan Weber started and took the loss for the Sox. Their pitching staff is drastically different than last year — with David Price traded to the Dodgers (and he’s not playing this year due to Coronavirus), and Rick Porcello signing with the Mets.
