The Yankees finally asserted their dominance over 23-39 Toronto in the 3rd game of this 3-game set, after having lost the first 2 games to break their streak of 9 straight series won. It took a happy J.A. Happ to do it — in an “emotional game”, according to him — as he beat Toronto in Toronto — a place he had forged many years of success, and against some of his old teammates.

Happ pitched 7 innings, allowing only 4 hits and 1 run, and leaving with the Yanks leading 6-1. He pitched the first 5 innings shutout ball. He dominated. He is now 6-3 4.48 on the season.
Yanks Jump Ahead
The Yanks jumped ahead in the 2nd inning off Edwin Jackson. After an error by Vladimir Guerrero Jr.extended the inning, DJ LeMahieu hit a 2-out double to make it 1-0, and then on the next pitch, Aaron Hicks HIT ONE TO THE STICKS in right for a 4-0 Yankee lead.

In the 4th, Gio Urshela smacked a homer to left, and then DJ LeMahieu (again — 3 for 4 on the day now batting .323) doubled in Cameron Maybin to make it 6-0 Yanks.
Green Agita in the 9th
Chad Green came in to pitch a scoreless 8th, getting an inning ending double play of Guerrero after allowing a single. But then he started the 9th with 3 straight singles allowed to load the bases with nobody out in the 9th. Aroldis Chapman came in and immediately got a double play grounder to Urshela at 3rd for 2 outs, and then a lineout to Urshela for the final out. Ballgame.
FINAL: #Yankees 6, Blue Jays 2.
This nifty DP started by Gio Urshela helped the Yankees escape a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the ninth with just one run allowed, and they salvage the finale in Toronto. Postgame next on YES! pic.twitter.com/0EElcxbJTX

For the other Yanks, Luke Voit, Kendrys Morales, Gary Sanchez, Clint Frazier, and Thairo Estrada went hitless, although Morales walked and Estrada scored a run. After the game Estrada was sent down to Scranton to make room for Didi Gregorius, finally back from arm surgery that dated back to last season.
