The Yankee Bombers bombed early and bombed late to get last laugh on the White Sox and obliterate Chicago 15-7.
Giancarlo Stanton hit two homeruns early to put the Yankees ahead both times, and Aaron Judge added a BOMB to put NY up 7-4. But the White Sox countered with a 3-run homer by Yoan Moncada to tie the game 7-7. New York turned to their secondary arsenal β a Josh Donaldson 3-run rainmaker highlighted a 7-run 8th inning β all runs scored with 2 outs β en route to the Yankee blowout.
“Just a lot of really good at bats up and down the lineup,” said Manager Aaron Boone afterwards.
1. Giancarlo Bombs Early
Giancarlo Stanton hit a 2-run homer in the 1st inning to the opposite field, plating DJ LeMahieu who led off the game with a double β and NY was on top 2-0 just like that against White Sox starter Dylan Cease.

The White Sox came back with 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd against Yankee starter Luis Gil.
But NY came right back in the top of the 3rd β a 1-out walk by Aaron Judge, a triple by Anthony Rizzo to plate him and tie the game 3-3, and then the 2nd homerun of the evening by Stanton — an almost identical opposite field shot as his first one — to put NY up 5-3.

“Those are some pretty swings,” said Aaron Judge about Giancarlo’s homers afterwards.
2. Gil Struggled
Luis Gil allowed 3 runs in the 2nd β a leadoff single, walk, then 1-out double by AJ Pollock scored a run, and a 2-out single by Leury Garcia plated 2 more to give Chicago a 3-2 lead at the time.
Gil struggled in the 4th as well β a 1-out walk and then consecutive singles loaded the bases. He got a force out at home for the 2nd out, but then threw a wild pitch to make it 6-4 NY at the time. Gil struck out Tim Anderson to get through the 4th.
3. Judge BOMB
DJ LeMahieu doubled in a run in the 4th to make it 6-3 NY, and Aaron Judge added a BOMB in the top of the 7th and NY seemed on its way to a win β leading 7-4.
Pardon me.

4. Loaisiga Coughs Up Lead
Miguel Castro came in for the 5th β and laid down another easy 1-2-3 inning. And Lucas Luetge pitched a shutout 6th β yielding to Jonahtan Loasiga in the 7th after a allowing a leadoff single.
But Loaisiga has been sketchy this season so far. He walked the first batter he faced, and then coughed up a game-tying 3-run homer to Moncada.
Yankee troll and former Bleacher Reporter Jared Carabis taunted Yankee Twitter with the following tweet:

5. Yankee Secondary Artillery Bombs Away in 8th
But the Yankees got last laugh as they scored 7 runs in the 8th after 2 were out. Up against former Red Sox reliever Joe Kelly — Aaron Hicks and Joey Gallo made out to start the inning. But then Kelly got wild:
- Marwin Gonzalez walked
- Gleyber Torres walked
- DJ LeMahieu walked to load the bases.
Aaron Judge then hit a grounder in the hole between 2nd and shortstop, and just beat out the throw to 1st β scoring Gonzalez and also scoring Gleyber Torres who raced home from 2nd on an aggressive, headβs up play. It gave NY a 9-7 lead.
A whole lot of hustle.

Anthony Rizzo walked causing Chicago to change pitchers and bring in Tanner Banks. Giancarlo Stanton singled in 2 runs to make it 11-7 and then Josh Donaldson stepped up and hit a rainmaker to left for a 14-7 Yankee lead.

The Yanks added another run in the 9th on singles by Gonzalez, Torres, and LeMahieu and a sac fly by Judge to make it 15-7 β blowout.
