Jonathan Loaisiga pitched into the 3rd (2.1 innings) as he has been doing on Yankee bullpen days — allowed a run and left with a 1-1 score; then the rest of the bullpen came in and pitched shutout ball the rest of the way, outdueling Philly’s Aaron Nola, who pitched 6 strong innings (1 run). Nola was 3rd in Cy Young Award voting 2 yrs ago at 17-6 2.37, and 12-7 3.87 last year.
The game was 1-1 into the 7th (and final inning for doubleheaders during Coronavirus), when a Mike Tauchman double scored Giancarlo Stanton, and Gio Urshela singled in Tyler Wade to make it 3-1 NY.
