Like the night before — it started off slow, but turned on a pitch that Gary Sanchez massacred into the left field bleachers, and ended in a route by the Yankees over the hapless Red Sox, this time by a score of 11-5.
Or as Fin Tastic put it about Friday night’s game:
“It was more like a clinical shit kicking in a bar fight.
Once down, the systematic laying of the boots. Precision GAME OVER.“
The Jabs at First
This time, the Yanks initiated the scoring with some jabs in the top of the 1st — a 2-run homer by Gio Urshela.

Boston jabbed back against Yankee starter James Paxton with a 2-RBI single by J.D. Martinez and a homer by Xander Bogaerts in the 3rd to take a 3-2 lead.
The Vicious Right and Knockdown
Gary Sanchez laid down his Boston Massacre on a pitch in the 4th — a 3-run homer to knock Boston to the floor and put the Yanks back on top 4-3.

The Systematic Laying of the Boots
Paxton settled down and went 5 innings for the win, backed by a couple of shutout innings from Jonathan Loaisiga and Luis Avilan, and then the Yanks systematically laid down the boots in the 6th and 7th — a 3-run homer to the opposite field (right field) by Clint Frazier and an RBI double by Tyler Wade in the 6th, and then in the 7th Clint Frazier ripped a single past third on a 2-strike pitch to plate 2 more. A Brett Gardner sac fly ended the shit kicking.

The Beer Afterwards
It was 11-3 heading into the 9th, when Luis Cessa, who had pitched a 1-2-3 8th (striking out 2), allowed a leadoff homer to Alex Verdugo and a 2-out RBI-triple to Kevin Pillar before getting the final out — there was no agita just annoyance that the final out took a bit to get to.
It was another massacre, or bar-room shit kicking. The Yanks are now 14-6 in 1st place, the Red Sox 6-15 in last place.
LeMahieu Injures Thumb
Some bad news after the bar-room fight DJ LeMahieu came away with a sore thumb; xrays were negative but he will get an MRI Sunday.
Other Yanks
Clint Frazier ended up 3-3 with 5 RBI, and Gleyber Torres was 2-4 after the 4-4 Friday night — Torres appears to have broken out of his season-long slump and raised his average to .234. Mike Tauchman who drove in so many runs Friday night, went 1-3 with no RBI but 3 runs scored in this one.
It was a good game for Brett Gardner also — 1 for 2 with a walk, a stolen base, a run scored and an RBI.
