Some Major League Baseball teams close their eyes and sign players who have a steroid past. The Yankees do not. A somewhat hidden backstory to Yankee management is their trading of players who have been involved in steroids — or become involved in steroids (leaving one to think Yankee management had suspicions about said player). The exceptions are ARod who they can’t get rid of, and Andy Pettitte who they brought back because he was so liked by Yankee fans and had an overwhelming aura of being a nice guy (plus he was a Really good pitcher).
